My pen drifts giving vent to all sorts of things
All kinds of ideas pour out of me
Situations I’ve seen and places I have been 
Sounds, perfumes and people all hustling in
Sometimes I have a title, just an idea
Not a clue what it will bring here

I just let my thoughts roam so far
I let them blow off the dust
It’s like having a mental bath
Then suddenly things start to move 
Really fast
I go over and over every word
Every sentence gives it worth

I’ve considered every experience thus far

Made sure all the doors of my mind 
Are fully open, or at least ajar
Enjoying the scene that is building so far
Ready to work, but here’s the thing 
My pen won’t shirk not for anything 

I think of trouble and strife
I also think of the best parts of my unique life
Every word is written down
I’m sure a few of them will make you frown

Everything ColourMine 

Is here so that we can consider 
Life and love at all different speeds
I finally go over everything 
And when it’s all done, 
I do a last check
On every piece, 

Because, oh, what the heck
ColourMine poems are written 
and transcribed by only me
I know they’re varied but so has my life been
From single to married, divorced then co-habiting 
Life at all stages has produced all different things
And everything in my poems 
Has been experienced by me
