ColourMine is a creative space curated by UK author Susan Lane SLCM, where domestic mishaps meet garden gossip and foxes and chickens wander through uninvited.
There are huge resident spiders and slow worms, along with rats, hedgehogs, squirrels, local cats, and the occasional visit from the neighbour’s dog – who sometimes leaves a small deposit (yuk, not nice).
Summer brings natural food sources – apples, blackberries, cherries, and plums – all woven into the rhythm of ordinary domestic life. The seasonal garden inspires a growing archive of poetry, reflections, and the peculiar beauty of everyday things.
From the overgrown to the undersaid, ColourMine reclaims small moments with sharp humour and quiet insight. Feel free to enjoy, explore, read, follow, comment, and share.

The ColourMine Website Journey
ColourMine began with little more than an idea, a notepad, and my faithful poetry pen friend, AssTea. What started as a small experiment has grown into a fully fledged creative space filled with pages, poems, images, and the quiet chaos of everyday inspiration.
I’ve documented much of this journey in the blog category Website Dreams and Inspirations, where I write about building a poetry website from scratch and the sparks behind many of my organic poems.
The creative pull – the notepad, the pen, the cup of tea – has interrupted me more times than I can count, but without the poems, what would ColourMine be?
