ColourMine | This is survival strategic underestimation here

Written by Susan Lane SLCM Keeper of ColourMine

ColourMine: I don’t only need this, understanding new direction ever reversing solitude to a new dilemma

More reminiscing from Squarespace with lots of frustrations and no solution in sight despite all my best efforts to wrangle everything into place, it should be so easy but it’s yet another facepalm moment for me!

I Don’t Understand (But I’m Doing It The ColourMine Way)

More tribulations for you to peruse
I just don’t understand
With everything I’ve already gone through
Just when I think I’ve done
Made every adjustment under the sun
Completed, checked and redone
And yet from Google all I see
Are things that are not good
For ColourMine and me

They all need fixing
Before my website is good and free
To be viewed by everyone,
All and sundry, who can read
The last thing I even thought that I’d need to do
Was the watermark in a larger brighter hue
To be readily seen when I thought it was to be
There unobtrusively

Obviously not,

So it’s changing again for me
I might bold it, and take it up a point or maybe three
I might even go for a deeper or lighter pink
Or maybe a purple or even in fact anything
That will show up brilliantly against a nice, dark, green
Well, it could take some time to finish the ColourMine design
What I want you to see is not grot or grime
Not necessarily elegant but something nice you see
That you will be able to read and hopefully

Gradually see all the things in life that have bothered me
Before, during and after building this Squarespace entity
When I started building ColourMine you see
I didn’t realise all the things I needed to be
To get everything visible even if it’s just for me
When you consider all the things I can do
Word, CorelDraw, PowerPoint, Designer and WordPress too

Yes, that’s all me

So, you’d have thought I’d be
Extremely competent and fully conversant
With everything computer, how wrong can you be?
Well, I’m up for the challenge but I didn’t think I’d need to be
Learning Canva or Photoshop, oh, no that’s not me
For me that’s how to encourage even more difficulty
Maybe I’m too impatient to learn
These new fandangled packages you see

After all I started to build the ColourMine website just for me
But I then began to see how others may
Have been affected most likely by life’s problems similarly
The big companies or corporations just don’t see
The problems that affect a normal everyday family
Not like you and me, they just hire someone in
To do any heavy lifting, make everything look fabulous
And work brilliantly not like lots of one-man-band outfits
Who have to do everything, just like you and me

But I can’t blame them

For any inconsistencies with ColourMine you see,
Because I didn’t do all my homework
Not completely
Obviously, I realised I’d be the chief and all the workers
To do everything that you see and read
Small snippets of my life in verse
In fact, everything you read is all my originality

I’d just thought once I’d done it would be easy you see
Typing, checking and uploading
All for free
Now you can all laugh because obviously
If I’d done all my homework diligently
I’d have seen I didn’t have all the tools
In my basket that I’d need
That’s a definite huge facepalm moment there for me
Damn, which is it to be Tea or Asti
