Cat: How one poet and three animals synchronised and made their enjoyment visible to the world on their new blogging platform.
Mummy Suzy, Cat and WordPress
I can’t believe it
There I was knocking on death’s door
Could barely get up off the floor
ColourMine was on Squarespace
Then mummy decided out of the blue
It would be better to be
At a different venue
Written up on WordPress
Is now where we are meant to be
And I’ve got to agree
We are so much happier
That other cat, the dog and me
We Love Living Here
And did I ever tell you
This is something on which
The others and me all agree
Living with mummy Suzy is free
She doesn’t charge us you see
Not for food, water, litter, wipes
Or anything else that we might need
Must be because
She’s our servant you see
What a fantastic existence this is
I can’t believe we can enjoy everything
And she doesn’t bill us for anything
The Mess is Ongoing
Mummy doesn’t complain
It doesn’t even matter what or how much
It just gets cleared up the same way
All year round, she does exactly the same
Whether it’s sun and excessive heat
Or even cold, damp and rain
The time of year is always the same here
She occasionally shouts and raves
Then in a moment she might
When she thinks we don’t see
She sneakily gets a bottle of cold Asti
Then drinks it all, can’t keep it
It might get warm or go off hehe
She also likes a nice cup of tea
She doesn’t share that with any of us
Oh no siree
Not even a saucer of milk or tea
Maybe we’ll celebrate one day
That will be good to see
Possibly when she gets
One million followers
And maybe a book deal
Well, I know that could be unlikely
But she’s ever hopeful
Because you just never know
We sit and wait
Maybe there will even be a show
Just like that female poet
In the 1970s, so long ago
Funny lady she came to be
Full of all kinds of poetic ditties
No matter the subject
It was always humorous, innocent,
Just like my mummy,
She was only young you see
And Pam Ayres was beginning to be an icon
She always came out with
Some kind of verse full of hilarity
She amused mummy Suzy you see
When she first saw Pam on the TV
That lady made her sit and laugh
Although my mummy didn’t
At that time seem to be
Aspiring to be a poet
That wasn’t deemed to be
A reasonable career, unfortunately
But now that Suzy has realised
Life is Just a Game
That’s not shame
It’s pride and enjoyment
Just another way to frame a game
So, now having had to deal with me
She writes everything down
Because you never know
How everything is going to be
Or even what cards you are going to be dealt
Oh, no siree
So, let’s enjoy what we have
And if there’s any more,
We will be so glad
And for now, let’s play the game
We’ll enjoy everything frame by frame
Whilst she has a cuppa
We’ll all make a mess
And consistently call her name
We’ll teach her who is in charge
Of all the life cards
Now you see
That WordPress has also inspired me
It has given me the zest to live
To irritate everyone like a div
But I’ve got to say,
And you’ll probably know this anyway
ColourMine on WordPress is so captivating every day
Why don’t you join me for a ColourMine poetry read
Don’t forget, there are a quite a few poems about me, hehe
