Cat | This is love, conventional medicine, feng shui

Written by Susan Lane SLCM Keeper of ColourMine

Cat: From the perspective of the cat who had his own near-death experience earlier in the summer of 2025

That Blasted Orange Cat – That’s Me

What a day this has been
I’m the cat you haven’t seen
I thought mummy Suzy
Didn’t love me
So, I made myself ill
With worry

Now I’ve come to see
She really does love me
My red platelets
Were only 7 when vet Nigel saw me
My platelets went up to 10 over the next week
Mummy Suzy was pleased

Alongside the efforts of Nigel Henderson

With his conventional medicine
And mummy Suzy who relied
On placement of actual things
Which initially probably
Got me into this predicament
Incoming Feng Shui

I was beginning to be like my former self
It then became even more apparent
To her and me, I was smiling
Like the proverbial Cheshire cat
I’m so grateful for her learning capacity

And her trust in Nigel the veterinary

Who was brilliant and gave her time
To figure out exactly what was affecting me
She was narrowing it down,
Albeit slowly

Some times were good,
Others not so healthily,
But now I know
Slowly she might figure out
Even more things
Although that doesn’t matter very much to me

I have seen the lengths

Which mummy will go
Combining conventional medicine
With what the Chinese call Feng Shui

Mummy has figured out
The bathroom shelf is significant
For me to be healthy
The bubble bath reflects the state of my paws
A beautiful pink means no flaws
No additions, just this for me
The cameo effect bringing life to everything
Gently, stealthily

Would you believe

She’s figuring out other life lessons
Now she has seen
How certain things affect me
She’s really chuffed
My platelets climbed to 23

Now there’s definitely one choice for me
Even Nigel has to agree
That his final injection
Is definitely not for me

Just continue the medication

He prescribed for me
Then come back in October
For another PCV blood test
Hopefully, by that time
I will be back to my normal, happy,
Yowling, irritating, hungry self
Oh, won’t mummy be pleased

Well, October came around
I had my PCV
Nigel and Mummy Suzy
Were almost celebrating
Right there in the middle of the surgery

My red platelets were up to 42

And the placement in our bathroom
On the shelf, well,
You wouldn’t know the significance
I know it’s just for me
Just one bottle there
I feel brilliant, back to normal
I’m finally me
