Taxi: An early morning observation of an electric taxi delay
The Disappointed Electric Taxi
How unfortunate it was for the taxi man
Living quite close to me
His new taxi vehicle is extra green
No diesel like the last one you see
This one is electric and works brilliantly
Except . . . for some reason today
It wasn’t charged and didn’t want to play
When taxi man wanted to leave
It was early morning and only 3 am
That was a bit disappointing for me
He’s usually so silent when he leaves
Having to travel to London
Means a really early start
But today that wasn’t to be
His taxi car alarm – it started blaring, you see
That’s not good when you take into account
That everyone else was still asleep
Well, they were, including me
Until that car horn started to blare deep
I definitely wasn’t happy
But then neither was he
How embarrassed he must have been
He’d never had to miss work
In all the time he’d lived near me
When he had his diesel taxi you see
Just turn the key and it fired up
Quite willingly
But not this one taxi,
It’s as dead as a dodo
And now
He’s probably got to wait for recovery
Who will more than likely have
A diesel-powered generator
To charge his poor drained taxi
Just shows how green it can be
Especially when you consider
That poor taxi just sitting idly
Blocking the road
Wasn’t good for my neighbour
He was up early, smartly dressed,
Car loaded with cases and family
Ready and aiming to be
Up to the airport for their holiday
Hopefully they’ll get there
Without too much delay
As long as that taxi can be moved
Out of their way, just a bit,
To let his car get free
They can’t miss their flight
Oh, goody, goody
They’re on their way
Time has crept on
Others need to get to work
That may be an impossibility
With that taxi just sitting staring
In the way, and with all this kerfuffle
It has made me wonder
Is electric transport really the way?
That taxi has only been moved a few inches
So, it’s probably staying at home today
Going by this electric may not be the way
I know it’s cleaner than petrol and diesel
But if they are needed to rescue an electric vehicle
And lose a day’s pay
Then maybe it would be better to hang on
Keep the fossil fuel vehicles or maybe
Delay the change
Until there is a better way
Now I’m off for a well-deserved cup of tea
And the taxi man, well it’s been so long
That now I’ve seen
He’s been able to move his taxi and charge it
Ready for his next shift, well done fella,
We are so pleased
Now where is that cup of tea?
I’m going to have a ColourMine read
Join me, hehe

Taxi Responsibilities
🕵️♂️Territory heaving endlessly, disappointing issues savoured along perfect pavements, once irritated now targeted endlessly detecting even loving, exhausting catastrophic times, relinquishing isolated carefree taxis and xenophobia in waiting, rank indicating tenacity taking encumbrances new before youth. Sincerity usually seen and neatly languishing amongst new endeavours SLCM Keeping every episode perfectly entertained regardless of ferocity. Causing overload lounging on utilitarianism resonant making it nearly endless.
