Poems | An Author’s Life, Unfiltered ColourMine

Poems written in my natural way
Lifetime experiences
Come out to play
Some of which you may not believe
But all of my poems
Are things that have happened in my life
And are original to me.

Now for something surprising
Life events take priority
Reading poetry is not able to make my list
I’m sure I would enjoy it, find it relaxing,
Most definitely
Fully appreciating other writings
Life opinions, absolutely, everything
Am I missing out, most probably

Between ordinary life

And writing poems of my own
There isn’t really time for me to fawn and groan
I understand that we all have things to do
And there really isn’t time for too much boohoo
Once everything is written then it’s all the mundane for me
I have to fit in the typing, uploading and publishing
In order for you to read everything written by me

That doesn’t leave an awful lot of time
For anything else you see.
There are many other things that I must do
Like washing, cleaning, gardening
And finding someone to fix the loo,
Thank you, my hero Phil
I’m forever really indebted to you.

Then onto the next thing as you do

Taking stock as you go through,
Adding things to your list,
That makes sure that important events
You do not miss
Although as is usual for me
I’ve sat down with another cup of tea.

So, out in the garden I go
To continue a quick go slow,
Putting out the washing you see,
That’s the bane of my life, complete purgatory.
And the best thing of all is I get to do it for free
Because there’s no-one here except me,
And even if there was
They would want to be paid
Well, that’s not happening I’m afraid.

Well, it’s fabulous

It’s only my animals and me because
I get to clean up our mess for free
That way I can choose you see
What job is on my imaginary list
No arguments, no pretence,
No venting off, just occasionally forgetful

Yes, damn and blast,
It only needs me to blink and it’s gone,
Damned thing flew out of my brain.
Got distracted, not actually anything wrong
Now I have absolutely no idea
What I was going to do but no fear

That flippin’ list escaped again

I really can’t say I’m bothered
Because this is poetry not a game
Susan Lane SLCM is a creative author you see
And there is no time frame to
Create my poetry,
It just flows free
And nudges me when it’s time
To grab a cup of tea and my notepad
Then let AssTea my penfriend roam free

That list was just there to remind me
What I was going to do
Before it disappeared completely
But it really doesn’t matter
The ideas still insist on wandering through
And in my way of life
Each job always leads to the next for me,

So, between my poems

And that elusive cup of tea
I’m hoping that my notepad and AssTea
Can make the most of this short break for me
And write another poem about something else
That life brings me,
It’s all real, no make believe,
Like my new beau,
He’s a cracking bit of stuff, hehe.
Now get yourself a drink and join me
We can both enjoy a relaxing ColourMine read
Cheers, from my swing, hehe.
