ColourMine | This is survival of the bright idea here

ColourMine Favicon – From Dandelion to Camellia

ColourMine was still on Squarespace, still winging it – this is the story of how one bright idea turned into a two-day whirlwind of colour changes, favicon fuss, and a few well-earned facepalms.

As you may have noticed yesterday,
I was completely lazy
Couldn’t be bothered to step into the foray
Although I had loads to do
I didn’t do anything
Not a poem, blog or nothing for you

Well, if you believe that then more fool you
Because I was doing absolutely nothing
That any of you could actually see
But . . . I was busy . . .
As you may now have seen
I changed the shades of ColourMine
From yellowy shades to a nice bright pink

I’d included it on the website for all to see
Hoping the change of shade
Would help you to stop and view
And consider what was waiting
Within ColourMine to be read
With a bedtime cuppa by your bed

With that said, I can guarantee
One or two of you will have thought
“That would have only have taken
A couple of hours
Then she’d have been free”
Well, you are actually wrong
With that assumption you see

It took several hours
When you take into the equation
Everything I had to do
It was a mammoth task and
I truly hadn’t considered the whole thing through
Or even thought of everything
That I would need to do.

ColourMine Favicon – Not Enough Consideration

It was just one bright idea,
A change of shade right here
So easy to do, no problem for me
But what I hadn’t thought of was
It was every page, every alt text, SEO Title
And Description, metadata too
Oh, what an idiot not to fully think it through

Yup that was me,
When everything was almost sorted
All in the yellowy shade
With all photos, information and accessibility
Then on a whim
I decided to change it
To a beautiful ColourMine pink
And all because I saw
One photo in my phone that was stored

It was a lovely Camellia I bought last year, you see
I decided I’d like that for my favicon,
So, in place it went for me
Then I took a look at everything else
And what did I see
It was all kind of saying
“Go, get out, don’t like this here, it’s not for me”
So, change it I did to make it inviting it you see,
To hopefully, make it nicer for us all
And especially for you to stay and have a read

Favicon – Then Full Livery

Therefore, I had lots to do,
I decided on a colour palette that
I thought was inviting too
Then there was all the backroom stuff you don’t see
For me to amend, like the Social Sharing Image,
SEO Titles, all descriptions for everything
ColourMine for you and Google to see

By the end of the day,
Would you believe
I was quite mentally knackered
Then another decision came by me,
A bottle of cheap Asti
With crisps and peanuts for me,
Followed by sleep

But this morning what do I see,
A huge list of things I’ve not done
Waiting for me, oh, lucky me, tee hee hee
Now let’s see where this change takes
ColourMine, you and me?

Although you have missed it
I’d still like you to email me:
www.susanlane.colourmine@outlook.com
To let me know if there are changes
You’d like to see

It would be good to know if you have any thoughts for me
I’m checking my email right now just to see
Because your opinion is important to me
Thank you, Good Morning and goodnight
Wherever you happen to be
From ColourMine and me
