Organic poems and poetic and sometimes funny observations are beginning to appear. Grab a brew, and have a short wander through.
The page is starting to take shape, but it’s not quite full, although I’m getting there; hopefully it will be soon.
Welcome to (Organic) ColourMine
A Website of Organic Writing
If you like original organic poetry or essays then ColourMine is the place to be. Read about the happy, the sad and the curious parts of life.
This is all taking place in the semirural setting of the county of Kent in the English countryside.
What is (Organic) ColourMine
It’s not a brand or a product. It’s a Lens, not a Label
ColourMine is a creative space curated by UK author Susan Lane, where domestic mishaps meet garden gossip and foxes and chickens drop by uninvited.
There are huge resident spiders and slow worms. There are also rats, hedgehogs, squirrels, local cats and occasionally the neighbour’s dog, who likes to leave a small deposit – yuk, not nice.
Natural summer food sources of apples, blackberries, cherries, and plums abound alongside normal domestic living. There is a growing archive of poetry, reflections, and the peculiar beauty of everyday things in the seasonal garden inspiring lots of organic poetry.
From the overgrown to the under-said, ColourMine reclaims small moments with sharp humour and quiet insight. Please feel free to enjoy, explore, read, follow, comment then share.
ColourMine is a British creative poetry site based in the UK but built for curious readers everywhere around the world. It would be great if you decided to linger a while, taking in the essence of the visiting wildlife, the domestic home life and all that ColourMine represents.

ColourMine Website Journey
Of course, the inclusion of my website journey was a given. I started with not much of an idea. Now I have a fully fledged working ColourMine website, with pages, poems, images, and, in fact, everything.
I have a category on my blog page Website Dreams and Inspirations where I have written about my experience in creating not only a poetry website but also the inspiration behind my organic poems as well.
As usual, the immense pull of the creative writing notepad and my special (to me) poetry pen pen friend AssTea, and the occasional cup of tea, did shove their way in several times, but without the poems, what would ColourMine be?
