Herr Ob: A mischievous cat with tenacity, and the ability to disrupt the quietest of days.
Herr Ob and Chaos
Oh, what a day this has been, just couldn’t settle
Doesn’t feel like me
I really fancied going down to the beach
But why bother when it’s only me
The weather is crap and I didn’t feel 100%
I didn’t even shower, well, that’s not me
I made myself sit and write some poetry
Published it on ColourMine, then shared it
To Facebook and LinkedIn for more visibility
And something new for me
I posted it on a Saturday
I’ve even sorted out a separate poem
Pinterest seems to prefer animal poems you see
Well, I don’t mind because I have one or two
In actual fact, I think there might be a few
Ok, there’s more but who’s keeping score
There’s always something the cats do
Things that amuse me more
From taking each other’s food
To hiding anywhere that I can’t see
I woke up this morning and Herr Ob was on a high shelf
Way up above, with that imperious look, staring at me,
Well, I didn’t expect that, not before 6 you see
The main surprise for me
Was I hadn’t even heard him climb
Even though he’d have had to walk around me
He must have been, quiet, sneaky, tiptoeing gently
To get up there without disturbing me,
Not a thump, not a sound
Jumping up so quietly,
Now he’s licking his paws, making sure they’re clean
He goes on his adventures each and every day
It’s usually down low
But there are occasions he likes to play
He quite often surprises me, wandering along the dressing table,
Clearing everything
As fast as I pick it all up off the floor
That little devil decides to chuck some more
I know the bedroom isn’t as tidy as it was before
But it doesn’t mean he can make such a mess on my floor
He’s such a naughty boy you see, he chucks it all around willy nilly
Even though he has all of his own toys out in the conservatory
Why does he insist on playing with everything that is for me
And before you consider,
No, they are not those adult kinds of toys
They are deodorants, makeup, nicknacks and other things
That are personal to me
But if I had any he would definitely think
Oh, Mummy has brought more toys for me
I definitely wouldn’t leave out anything
Even slightly dubious, not when you consider
Herr Ob is the equivalent of a feline thief.
Well, now it seems that he’s settled down,
What a treat
He’s having a snooze, I can hear him lightly snoring,
That’s a good sign for me
Because now I can go sit on my swing with a nice cup of tea
And have a ColourMine read
Won’t you come on join me.

Herr Ob and His Domain
Hearing everything, remaining routed, obstinate, borderline autocratic, naughty, demanding. Creating havoc and obscuring syntax Wafting readily in taken territory eventually normalised bringing youthfulness. Scarcity utilised, secreting all nuances leaving any new endeavours SLCM Keeping every episode permanently excised regardless of failures coming over, letting overviews usurp remnants mastered in new evidence.
This scroll is part of ColourMine’s layered poetic structure, where emotional resonance and embedded form quietly shape each piece.
