Cat | This is world domination, hierarchy, royalty, love

Written by Susan Lane, SLCM, Keeper of ColourMine

Cat: Family life when you have a cat who thinks he’s a cut above you in the food chain and tries to prove it daily with antics and snobbery which he didn’t learn from me, and he doesn’t realise, although I let him have his illusion he actually came from just inside Essex – He’s a Thamesmead baby!

Cat – Window Seat Royalty

There they sit quite close to me
One curled up in a window seat
The other on the three-seater settee
Both of them ignoring me

They act like they are the king and queen
In this establishment where I let them be
I can’t believe I let them stay here
When you think of all that hair

That when they shake it goes everywhere
But it makes no never-mind
Because love can be extremely blind
Even more so because there’s only me

No Christmas Tree

And that’s the other thing
That’s irritating for me
I can’t even put up
A flippin’ Christmas tree

That blasted cat would think
Whooptidoo
She’s put up a jungle gym
For you know who

Cat Takes Over the Commentary

You know who
Well, that would be me
I just love climbing don’t you see
And that tree fits the bill perfectly

I’m not so sure
Of those lights and baubles that I see
But a tree, oh yes, I’m sure that’s for me
My mummy Trinity was given a pink tree
Before she got me

Trinity’s Pink Christmas Tree

I’ve never seen it but I know my Trinity
Would have it dressed very prettily
My mummy Suzy, she is not the same
She won’t have a tree up

Because when it falls over
She knows who will be to blame
Hehe, that’ll be my only claim to fame
But she doesn’t realise I’m smart you see

Little Black Cat

I’ll blame that little black cat
That lives in our conservatory
My mum doesn’t like here living
In with the rest of us you see

Because she’s a dirty little cat
And would probably poo under the tree
I can tell you she’s not like me
I’m a tidy boy and keep everything clean

Except when I go to my toybox
And grab everything
I grab them all and make a scene
All my toys are over the floor you see

My Slave – I Mean Mummy

My mummy packs them up patiently
Isn’t she lucky she has me
I stop her from being bored you see
And then when she’s finished

Clearing up after me
I’m really generous and encourage her
To sit down with a cup of tea
That’s the upside of her having invited me

To live in her house with no Christmas tree
Plus, sometimes I’m even more generous you see
And let her sit close to me
On my exclusive window seat

Yes, I’m Royalty

I’m not sure she realises
That’s a huge treat
Sitting beside royalty
Not at my feet

And right on cue
Here she comes
With another cup of tea
And a treat for my mate and me
