Gardening | This is survival of autumn tasks here

Gardening – Calling other lovers of undesired responsibility, mainly in November ecstasy

Bloomin’ Gardening Is Not Much Fun

Juggling gardening, housework and poetry without a man can be a task that is never-ending, but the end result is very rewarding, as you can see.

Well, that’s another bag done
It’s really hard work and not much fun
But I do it because it has to be done
Then when it’s tidy, I can go for a run

If you believe that you’re more of a fool than me
Because that is not on my agenda you see
I don’t mind a bit of walking now and again
But as for running it just doesn’t blend

I don’t mind the gardening
That’s alright for me
You get the job done
And maybe it needs another go over
Just so it’s nice you see

But as for running
Well, I could end up a long way away
Especially if I did a few miles each day
Yes, I’m joking
I’d have to be an idiot to believe
In that kind of floor show
Oh yes, siree

But doing the gardening
Well, that’s a reprieve
From doing what I’m not keen on
Because it’s repetitive you see

Bloomin’ Cat Debris

Although I do house-work I’m not keen
Because when you have animals
It’s almost always a grime scene
They chuck their litter out each day
Oh, why doesn’t it ever stay in the tray

There’s always a mess when I’ve just cleaned
It only stays nice for a day it seems
Then the cat’s cause a hullaballoo
Shouting and yowling
Probably calling me a fool

Gardening and the Elderberry

But I digress, back to the bag for me
How quick it is to fill a one-ton bag you see
After cutting back that hedge
That is full of bloomin’ elderberry

I wouldn’t mind but
The bottom of the stems are so big
The space is so restricted and the bow saw so thick
I just cannot get any leverage down near the root
So, from the top it’s best to cut down a foot

That is the best that I can do
And hopefully you will learn from me
If you have a hedge then at least trim it, yearly
Or you will have the same problem as me

Instead of taking a day, it could take three
And not only cutting,
You still have to clear up the debris

Reminiscing at the End of the Day

Now I ache all over you see
So, I’m going to grab some painkillers,
And a macchiato to see if it will ease
Sometimes I do wonder if I need a man

To help with the heavy things in life you see
But then they’d want me to make a cup of tea
Because I can be distracted
And back on task more easily
Plus, if they’re gardening
They can’t also boil a kettle it seems!
