Poems: A poetic glimpse into the everyday life behind ColourMine
The Author’s Life: Unfiltered ColourMine
Poems, my originality, my way
I understand that you may not believe
That all of my poems are originally me.
I don’t actually read poetry
It’s not something I do
Although I probably should because
Then I would be able to fully appreciate
Absolutely everything that you all do
Between ordinary life and writing poems of my own
There isn’t really time for me to fawn and groan
I understand that we all have things to do
And there really isn’t time for too much boohoo
Once everything is written then it’s all the mundane for me
I have to fit in the typing, uploading and publishing
In order for you to read everything written by me
That doesn’t leave an awful lot of time
For anything else you see.
There are many other things that I must do
Like washing, cleaning,
And finding someone to fix the loo,
Thank you, my hero Phil
I’m forever really indebted to you.
Then onto the next thing as you do
Taking stock as you go through,
Adding things to your list,
That makes sure that you do not miss
Anything you do not see,
Although as is usual for me
I’ve sat down with another cup of tea.
So, out in the garden I go
To continue a quick go slow,
Putting out the washing you see,
That’s the bane of my life, complete purgatory.
And the best thing of all is I get to do it for free
Because there’s no-one here except me,
And even if there was
They would want to be paid
Well, that’s not happening, I’m afraid.
Well, isn’t it a good job it’s only me
Who gets to clean up my mess for free
Because then I can choose, you see
What job is on my imaginary list to do,
But damn and blast, yes, it’s gone,
Damned thing flew out of my brain.
Now I have absolutely no idea
What I was going to do
That flippin’ list escaped again
I really can’t say I’m bothered
Because this is poetry not a game
Susan Lane SLCM is a creative author, you see
And there is no timeframe in which to
Create my poetry; it just flows free
And nudges me when it’s time to
Grab a cup of tea and my notepad
Then let AssTea roam free
That list was just there to remind me
What I was going to do
Before it disappeared completely
But it really doesn’t matter, you see
Because in my way of life each job always
Leads to the next for me,
Poems and that elusive cup of tea
I’m hoping that with my notepad and AssTea I can make the most of this short break for me And write another poem about something else That life brings me, whether real or make-believe. Like my new beau, he’s a cracking bit of stuff, hehe.
