ColourMine is happy here | Write for free, find your voice

A ColourMine Poem About Creativity and Self-Expression
By Susan Lane

ColourMine is hoping to show you

That everything you do, everything you see
Is your very own unique immersive story
We all have that same ability
To open up and let it run free
Don’t be afraid to write it all down
Occasionally you need to earn that frown
Whether it’s laughter, joy or tears
Or maybe just a few fears
It all comes from your core
Believe it or not that’s
An exceptionally huge store
Just when you think you’re all done
It goes up to your brain
There’s more getting ready to come again

All the feelings you have in you
They all play a part in your life
And carry on through
Sometimes your laughter turns to tears
Sometimes you just needed to recognise your fears
My life here is just that too
Experienced and written by me for you to view
Twenty-five years it has taken me
To let it free, to find my voice
Please don’t take so long to find yours
Go on, make the choice

Recognising Yourself With ColourMine

Write down your feelings, your hopes, your fears
Make sure you don’t forget the cheers
Wherever you are you can write it for you
Just carry a notebook, write a blog or even just give a nod
To that special someone long ago
Somewhere, wherever you go
Do a post on Facebook, Instagram
Or in fact anything digitally
Sometimes it will rush and sometimes
It will go extremely slowly
Never mind, it doesn’t matter
Whether it’s a line or two
Or if it’s a page just let it flow through you
That way you can let it roam free
This will be the start
Of your own personal journey of creativity

Please know you are not on your own
And doing this will gradually help you to grow
It’s not wrong to write in anger
Because once it’s out you will be stronger
Just pick a subject and write down how you feel
Life will get easier, you know it will
You may be full of guilt because you’re still here
Don’t worry that’s just part of fear

Am I angry, yes, I still am
But it’s so much milder and not so quick to show
But it doesn’t completely go
I’m hoping to help you see
You’re not the only one to
Experience these things emotionally
I have too but I made a choice and
Now as you can see,
I have finally started opening up to being me
I would love for you to consider joining me
When you decide to grow your own voice
