Written by Susan Lane SLCM Keeper of ColourMine
ColourMine, aka Mother Nature to me, is my view of everything I see, whether good or bad. I’m giving my own living experience in my own words as played out each day, week, month and year in every poem that I write. I hope you enjoy what you read; an emoji click will let me know you like that particular poem.
ColourMine you are everywhere for me
In everything I do, everywhere I go
And I’m so glad that you let me know
Everything I do is an inspiration from you
Whilst with everything I see
You inspire the fire in me
I cannot let a day go by when I don’t, at least try
To find something new, something positive,
Something you
It’s true and it’s very you
Everything I see, is miraculously
Full of wonder, full of generosity
From bugs and spiders,
Slow worms too, the many shrubs,
And the swing seat for two
Even the compost bin has its day
Shouting “boom”, and “hey, hey, hey”
From the chickens, the cows,
And the horses too
The barking dog, and the cockatoo
The rats, the birds, big and small
They all join in the morning call
Life is so fabulous because
ColourMine is here with me
And I’ve decided to share it
With thee,
Life you know
Will not be the same after you have shared
The thoughts in my brain
From sadness to happiness, you could agree
Life isn’t all brilliant all the time you see
Though maybe that could just be me
Until then I’m hoping and praying
That ColourMine will forever be -
Seen through these rose-tinted glasses
Whooptidee
Now as I weave my sway
Through life’s problems that come my way
I’m still thinking, as you do of lots of solutions
That are man made for me and you
Sometimes it’s easier said than done
Because all of the entanglements
That are sent to spoil your fun
And then you find only me
Who couldn’t give a rat’s tail, hehe
I just want the same as you
Let me be free to enjoy Mother Nature
That’s ColourMine to me
ColourMine – Spreading the word
Of everything colour that I see
In my garden, that’s mine, hehe
Now, I’m going to grab
A nice hot cup of tea
Won’t you have one with me?
This is a poem about an ordinary garden
As seen each and every day.
Included are a few of the creatures
That come my way.
Several are seen but others shy away
They leave a small deposit
To prove they came by today.
This proof of their life may not always be
As nicely scented as you might wish it to be.
Hopefully, when the neighbours’ chickens
Decide to leave,
Then the foxes probably won’t visit
And leave their stinky deposit with me.
Many of the antics that I have seen
Have been mentioned in other poems
That have been written by me.
They are quite possibly reminiscent
Of something that you have probably seen.
A lot are happy and a few are quite gross,
That all depends on your stance,
Your beliefs, and the shade
Of your tinted glasses in rose.
I sincerely hope you enjoy everything
On ColourMine that you read,
Goodbye for now,
I’m going for a cup of tea.
