Moving: Circumstances change from week to week. There’s no stopping me when I have decided to move on, we just build on what has been.
Moving to WordPress, Building Poetry
There are always variations on a theme, even for me
But that doesn’t mean they are wrong,
Just a different view of what has been seen
The difficulties I have faced are peculiar to me
And although you may have faced similar
They would not be identical to me
Throughout my life and website building you see
I went onto Squarespace thinking it would be good for me
Trying something new, something that would be
Just a case of slot it in and it’ll be seen
Well, how wrong could I have been
It wasn’t that simple for me
Just one tiny adjustment and that’s another hour
Spent re-jigging everything
I got really bored with all that plug and play thing
So went to WordPress thinking it would be better for me
And . . .
Omg, . . .
I couldn’t have been any more right if I’d tried
To find something that really did suit me
It is everything I thought Squarespace would be
Simple, easy, no time wasting for me
I know there have been tweaks and amendments
But no matter where you stay you always choose new decor
To suit you and this different way
I have dome so many changes and you wouldn’t believe
That even though the amount has been phenomenal
It has all seemed so easy to me
Just change and save then move on
To the next bit that needs to be cleaned
Everything is coming together and it’s being seen
May be not by you but definitely by Google and Bing
I know it’s all worth the extra effort I am investing
Almost daily because you see
ColourMine gets ranked higher in search results
Despite being a relatively new website in a niche subject
Because you see, poetry is not really seen
As phenomenal subject matter despite the variation
Of topics covered within each poem written by others and me
Be assured not all poets are the same
Some write as a hobby, whereas others see it as a life frame
Me, I see I as a lifetime adventure writing a visual poem
Of life for my family, animals and me
Some things are happy and others are completely awful
But these situations are all me,
The way I have experienced things in my life
Some are quite simple you see
Like going for maternity checkups and then the awful finality
Of seeing a friend and colleague in the hospital coffee shop
When I said “don’t say a word” because
It was only within that week earlier that my son was still-born you see
And I wasn’t coping spectacularly
All of these different thing surface gently, occasionally
When I can cope with the memories of what has been
Like when I saw my previous boss in the street
I said “Hello, I have news”
She brushed me off quite quickly and rushed away you see
So, unless she is psychic, she wouldn’t know that within
The previous two months I had lost two people special to me
But that doesn’t matter, I’m sure she enjoyed her coffee
Or whatever she was going to drink
Moving: Whilst I went to the funeral parlour,
Yet again
But that’s enough musing today for me,
Now I think I shall go for a nice cup of tea
And a sit on my swing
Whilst I look inside of me for my ferocious animal
That is waiting, moving, going to spring
And tomorrow is yet another day
When I’ll get the chance to play,
With WordPress and ColourMine
Please join me again.
