A Quick Supermarket Top-Up
Wow, a supermarket visit can cost how much?
Wow, a supermarket visit can cost how much?
How can it equate to this in a week
I don’t eat that much
It should be quite cheap
Oh, but look there’s the rub
More cleaning and washing items
And stuff for the tub
All bought because
They’re on discount you see
Although I didn’t realise
It was going to cost so much
For this tiny spree
I’ve gradually gotten
A cupboard full of tins
I’ve even included
A nice big bottle of gin
All on offer you see
Because when the price goes up
I’ll be rubbing my hands with glee
But if it does, I shall be pleased
To have saved all this money
Then next week I’ll buy
A couple of bottles of Asti
Ready of course for Christmas
Hehe
But for now, I’ll just buy
These bits and put them all away
Then get minimal food
On the next fridge day
All in all, I’m pleased to say
It’s turning out to be
A very good and pleasant day
I’m Qualified At Overbuying
I think I went too mad today
With this clever shopping foray
The cupboard is stuffed
No room for any more
Oh, what an idiot
With all of this extra here
I open the cupboards and see
They are stacked to the gunnels
Silly me.
Now until the rest that I got before
Has all been used up
This extra lot has got to stay
In the shopping bags on the floor
I really should have been
More diligent you see
In counting everything
So, I didn’t overdo the purchasing
But it’s ok because next time I’ll be
Rather more careful
And just do the fridge
Then skidaddle, hehe
I already know that will be
Easier said and done
Because I know me
And frugal isn’t within
My vocabulary
So, I’ll only take one bag and
Hopefully that will stop me
From loading the shopping trolley
Then the car and into the house
It isn’t that far so maybe
I can treat it like a game
See how low I can get the total
Before I pay
Maybe I’ll make a deal
Just for me
To get one treat if I can
Pay as near to fifty pounds
For the whole week
I know that sounds bleak
But I do have enough
Tinned food to
Last more than a week
Now after all that
I think it’s time for
