ColourMine on Squarespace: A Progress Poem

This is a poetic reflection on the early days of ColourMine’s build – with lots of Squarespace trials, tribulations, creative breakthroughs, and the unexpected joy of watching pages bloom. Follow me on my crafted journey of discovery toward the ColourMine of today.

Thought you might like
A progress update thus far
On ColourMine,
My super shining poetry star,

Who’d have thought I could open my heart
To such a glorious start
I was so pleased, it felt so good
To add two new pages to the
ColourMine neighbourhood

I was so glad that it had grown there
Without even a second being spared
Then having spent so many days
Finding my way around
Like this was a game

Back and forth,
I always seemed to be
And it was still
So confusing for me
But it was growing gradually

In just a few days, with a few frowns
This platform was still jumping
And playing around
But on Squarespace I believed
The drop and drag would be a relief

I just thought I’d give it a go
Now for me, I know this way of working
Was just for show
Even though I persevered I knew

Deep down it would take some
Really strong glue
Like Gorilla to keep me
On Squarespace for all eternity
Because I still felt
It wasn’t for me

I continued diligently
And even though I found annoyingly
That adding new pages
Was reasonably easy for me

ColourMine – Still Forging Ahead

Everything was actually hampered
By those poems that kind of jumped out at me
Definitely no stopping them you see
This was quickly followed
By others that flowed through

They just kept coming you see
And I had nowhere to put them
Because of the place they were in
So, Susan’s Kitchen came for me
Followed by Susan’s Garden
To make sure you could find those
Special poems to read

Who’d have thought there would be
Such an ingenious way
To include some older poems
And their photos on that day
Must have got married, hehe

Anyway, it’s so good you’ve come my way
To help everyone to celebrate
Such a very wonderful day
It’s always good to see
Another poem that has come from me

That has been written, typed and uploaded
For you all to read
On all different subjects
From old to modernity
And AssTea lets me see

All the good things
That were Squarespace for me
But don’t be fooled
I could actually see
All that time ago that

WordPress was probably
The actual place I was
Considering for
This massive feat
As the Lady of the House
On The Swing Seat,
Thank you all, now it’s time
For another cup of tea
